Gao Wei

Gao wei, born in Baoding, Hebei province, Han ethnic group, teaching at Keyboard and Orchestral Music Research Office of the Institute for Music Studies. He studied at the Department of Orchestral Instrument of Xi'an Conservatory of Music from 1997 to 2001 and got his bachelor's degree there. He has been working at the School of Art of Lanzhou University since 2001.

Research direction: violin and viola teaching

Courses offered: chamber music teaching and performing of violin and viola

Music and Culture Protection and Inheritance Project in Gannan Tibetan Area in July 2008

Performance Experiences:

HIs chamber orchestra has held many public benefit chamber music concerts in many universities in Lanzhou since 2008.  

Personal Awards:

In 2001, he won the first prize in Gansu division of the National Art New Talent Competition;

In 2003, he won the first prize of chamber music in Gansu Division of the Youth’s Talent Competition of China.

In 2007, he won the “Outstanding Teacher Award” in Gansu Division of the Youth’s Talent Competition of China.

In 2008, he won the second prize of chamber music in Gansu Division of Golden Bell Awards Competition.

In 2013, he won the “Chinese Good People” award sponsored by the China Civilization Network of the Central Civilization Office for his chamber orchestra’s long-term commitment to the performance and teaching of chamber music for public benefit.
